Governor J.B. Pritzker’s Proposed 2020 Budget
Amanda Kass and other officials reacted to Governor Pritzker's first State Budget Address on WTTW. Though most officials liked Pritzker's emphasis on righting the wrongs made in the past few years, there is some skepticism on how Pritzker's goals can be accomplished. Kass states: “I don’t think it’s a wise idea to increase spending – even if the spending is laudable and desirable – without having that revenue in place. And I don’t think getting revenue from decreasing the pension contributions is prudent. It’s similar to what past governors have done over and over again.” Read more here
