Amanda Kass Weighs In On Lightfoot’s Budget Challenges
Associate Director Amanda Kass talks about Lightfoot's budget challenges in Politico. Perhaps one of Lightfoot's biggest challenges is whether or not to alter benefits or the state pension clause. Kass notes "I think anything involving benefits would be a mistake as there have been several Illinois Supreme Court cases that have made it abundantly clear that the court views all aspects of the benefit [including the COLA] protected by the constitutional pension protection clause."
